Alaska 2026

Alaska 2026 – Reboot of our aborted Alaska 2025 trip, mixing it up a bit this time. We boarded the Kennicott, an Alaska state ferry, headed for Haines, Ak, with our RV safe on the car deck and our folding bikes secure inside. We had originally booked a 2 berth cabin with facilities (shower and toilet) and a window on the Columbia, but it wasn’t ready in time for this trip, so they reassigned us to the Kennicott – a smaller vessel, and our new room assignment has no facilities, and no window! Oh well, at least it is the same route with the same awesome scenery – and so far the weather is perfect! We get to spend about 6 hours stopping in Ketchikan and about 2 hours in Sitka, before ending in Haines, AK. We left Bellingham, WA at 5pm 5/29 and will arrive in Haines, AK at 8;30am on 6/2. Four nights, 3 days.

  1. Thank you, Patty and Randy for these beautiful photos. It looks like the beginnings of a wonderful trip. Chris and I are still at home, as I am still recovering from spine surgery two weeks ago. Yesterday we also lost a very dear friend Lauren who was my soulmate here in Tehachapi. However I’m just trying to look ahead at trips we might still make, with you two or our Canadian friends, Kim and Tony. Keep sending us photos! Love Chris and Carol.
