Home

We left on 5/26/26 and arrived home on 7/17/26. That’s an almost 8 week trip! Starting in Rio Vista to Bellingham, WA, then the Alaskan State Ferry to Ketchikan, Sitka, and Haines. Then drove the Haines Hwy to the Alaska Highway to Tok, Fairbanks, and finally Healy and Denali. Spent the next week at Kevin, Megan and Skylar’s cabin with Kerry, Dave, Quinn & Rowan visiting too.

Then continued down the Parks Highway to Talkeetna, Made our way to Homer after spending a few days in the little town of Hope. Next stop Valdez. Then headed back up to Healy for a few more days visiting Kevin, Megan and newest granddaughter, Skylar. But first we stopped again in Talkeetna to splurge on a bucket list item – a flight and glacier landing with K2 Aviation.

Back up to Fairbanks, to start our trek home. Took a side trip on the Klondike Highway to Skagway, AK, then a stop in Tagish, YK and finally took the Cassiar Highway to Stewart, BC, with a brief visit to Hyder, AK.

From Stewart, we pushed to get home. It had been an amazing trip, but we knew we were ready to be home, at least for a while, to regroup and plan a next trip. So the stops heading home were Smithers and Cache Creek, BC and Mount Vernon WA, Salem OR and Dunsmuir CA.

Final mileage was 6,732 miles! Not including the ferry from Bellingham to Haines.
