Cardrona

3/30/25: Stopped at the famous Cardrona Hotel, one of the oldest hotels in New Zealand. There’s a bar and restaurant, and you guessed it – free camping for the night! Had an excellent leg of lamb for dinner and Randy had dirty eggs for breakfast ( I had a cheese scone).

Purakaunui Falls

3/27/25: Stopped for a short 20 minute round trip walk to see these falls while driving through the Catlins area at the bottom of the South Island. This was before we went to Curio Bay, also in the Catlins.

Milford Sound

Arrived in Te Anau on 3/28, ready for the Milford Sound cruise on 3/29. The cruise we signed up for includes a bus from Te Anau to Milford Sound.
