As if 2 weeks in a camper van on the South Island of New Zealand wasn’t enough – we just started a 6 week trip to Alaska in our RV. Finally getting over the pandemic travel pause, we are determined to make up for lost time. The plan is to drive straight to Stewart, BC at the start of the Cassier Highway, stay there 2 full days to rest up and revisit Hyder, AK (we were there in 1995) and then continue our journey. First stop was a Harvest Host in Central Point, OR. Next stop was a Harvest Host in Olympia, WA. Then crossed the boarder into Canada at Sumas, BC and stayed that night in Cache Creek. Making good time, feeling good. HOWEVER – next stop Fraser Lake, and the slide got stuck the next morning! So here we sit on a Sunday waiting (and hoping) that we can get some help on Monday. It’s a beautiful place to be stuck, but we’re anxious to get back on the road!
