Crossed the boarder into Canada today. This is the same route we took on the way up, but we noticed some changes in just the 3 1/2 weeks since we were here before. The road seems better, and while some of that may be due to our getting used to the potholes, Frost heaves, and occasional gravel, we know they’ve also been working on making repairs. We also noticed that the fireweed flowers along the roadside had lost their purple bloom and some of the trees are beginning to change to fall colors.

Today’s route took us by Kluane Lake. On the way up it was windy and there was sand in the air, making it difficult to see. This time it was clear and beautiful.

We stopped for the night at Haines Junction. Here’s a photo of what we usually find when we leave the cats alone for awhile.
