Still stuck in Grande Prairie waiting for the tow bar replacement latch. It appears that it didn’t come today so we need to check with the repair shop tomorrow to see what is the next delivery date. If this is going to take too long, our only recourse is to buy a new tow bar ( ~ $900) and deal with it when we get back. The old one is still under warranted but we want to get back on the road again.
Drove the car to Dawson Creek today to check out the town so we won’t need to do that on the way out in the RV. It’s mile zero for the Alaskan Highway. Kinda disappointed. It’s a dusty town with the only redeeming feature the arch at the start of the highway and a visitors center. No breweries and mostly fast food. However we did go on a 5 mile bike ride that almost made up for it.
